Financial translation requires a translator who understands finance, not just a translator who knows financial vocabulary. The difference is significant. An annual report contains forward-looking statements that must comply with specific regulatory disclosure requirements in the target market. The language of an investor letter has conventions that reflect the securities law of the jurisdiction. A fund prospectus has a structure dictated by the relevant EU or national regulation and any deviation creates compliance risk.
